About Me

I'm a Registered Psychologist working with individuals aged 17 years and over, supporting people experiencing a range of emotional, relational, and life challenges.

Before becoming a psychologist, I spent a number of years working in finance and professional corporate environments. This gave me valuable experience working with people from a wide range of backgrounds, while also providing firsthand insight into the many pressures and competing demands that people can face across different areas of their lives — including work, relationships, responsibilities, and the challenge of finding a sense of balance and direction.

Over time, I found myself increasingly drawn to working with people and to understanding how our experiences shape us, why certain patterns seem to repeat in our lives and relationships, and what allows meaningful and lasting change to occur. Eventually, this led me to pursue formal qualifications and training in psychology, and ultimately to build a career around something I find deeply engaging and personally meaningful: working closely with people and helping them better understand themselves and the difficulties they may be facing.

How I Work

Today, I work with people experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, OCD and intrusive thoughts, stress and burnout, relationship difficulties, trauma, and the ongoing effects of difficult past experiences. I also work with people who may not have a particular diagnosis or be facing a crisis, but have reached a point where they want to better understand themselves, their relationships, or patterns in their lives that no longer seem to be working for them.

As a psychologist, I aim to be warm, authentic, and genuinely engaged. I believe therapy works best when there is space for real human connection — one where we can sit with experiences that are difficult or painful, but where there is also room for warmth, humour, and some lighter moments that naturally emerge along the way.

I want therapy to feel personal and collaborative, acknowledging the depth and purpose that brings people to therapy in the first place. At the same time, the way I work is firmly grounded in psychological theory, research, and evidence-based practice, drawing on established therapeutic approaches while carefully considering what is most relevant to you as an individual. For me, these aren't competing ideas: I believe good therapy can be both deeply human and professionally rigorous.

My Therapeutic Approach

My approach to therapy is primarily Psychodynamic, while also drawing on other evidence-based approaches depending on your needs and what we are working towards together.

Psychodynamic therapy is based on the idea that the difficulties we experience in the present can sometimes be better understood by exploring the patterns, relationships and experiences that have shaped us over time. In therapy, we may pay attention to recurring patterns in how you relate to yourself and others, how you experience and respond to emotions, and ways of coping that may once have been helpful but are now creating difficulties.

The aim is not simply to understand why these patterns exist, but to develop greater awareness and create opportunities for meaningful and lasting change.

I also have training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and draw on elements of these approaches where they may be helpful.
